Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport<\/strong> is the principal airport serving Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan Province, China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was opened on 28 August 1997, the 21st international airport in China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are domestic and regional flights from the airport to most major cities in the People’s Republic of China, international cargo and passengers flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2013, China’s State Council approved the expansion of Zhengzhou’s airport; the construction of a new terminal and runway began in earnest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new terminal  consists of 470,000m2 of terminal building, an additional 77 aircraft parking stands and six de-icing stations. A second runway will run parallel to the north of the current runway. By 2030, the project calls for a total of five runways capable of handling 70 million passengers annually
